Celine Elise Redfield, Art Therapist {M.A., LMFT #T1386, ATR #13-270, ART-T-10205997, EFT Master Practitioner, Reiki Master} Pronouns: they/ them/theirs

I earned my Masters of Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute. I specialized in Art therapy and Marriage and Family therapy. I focused on interpersonal neuroscience. In my undergraduate education at UCLA, I originally trained as a graphic artist, filmmaker and photographer. I worked in the design field for over 10 years. I then desired to make more of an impact in the lives of others. I also wanted to impact the community.

The experience that inspired me to become an art therapist occurred while I was teaching children art. One afternoon, I was teaching one of the children. He uncovered a traumatic event. Then, he covered the entire paper with magazine clippings. At this point, I realized how powerful the process of creating artwork was. I desired to become an art therapist. I returned to school to gain a minor in psychology. This made me eligible for my Masters in Psychology. I wanted to fulfill my passion to become an art therapist.

The populations that I have worked with include individuals, couples, and families. I have also worked with groups and the geriatric population. My experience extends to at-risk youth and teens who are severely emotionally disturbed. I have engaged with Latino families and LGTBQ individuals and youth. Additionally, I have supported trauma survivors and addicts of all types. Lastly, I have helped people who struggle with their identity.

I believe in working holistically. I focus on finding a client’s strengths to help them thrive. This approach assists them in making changes in their lives. I have a particular interest in working with self-harm, trauma, anxiety, addiction, communication issues, and self-image. Being an art therapist and marriage and family therapist fulfills my need to work within the community. I help others to achieve insight and inner growth.
